Is it possible at all to play just ONE single video file on this player? Whenever there are more video files in same directory it plays automatically all of them? Is it possible to adjust the player to stop it after playing just one file ?

Try punching the "Repeat" button on the left of the upper row of the remote's buttons until it says "Single".
