  1. Remember when Potplayer used to remember playback positions in the favourites menu where it shows your recently played files, but it didn't remember you were in the credits last time you watch each and every episode of the anime you are marathoning forcing you to skip to the start every time.... what were they thinking? But I can't just turn the feature off either or I'll lose my spot in audiobooks, and I treasure the ability to remember playback history in the favorites, but NEVER in the playlist. Does anyone know exactly when the feature was removed, or a way to bypass the issue? I would also be interested in finding a way to open every compatible file in a folder by default, another feature that was dropped. Now it's either "Similar Files" or "Same Type"

  2. Well it looks like I just solved my own question, sort of. The latest version that does things the way I like is version 1.7.16291 and you can find a portable version here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/thumbapps/files/Music_Video/PotPlayer/ Back it up if you like it because this is the last copy of a portable version of this I could find, had do do some intense googling to figure this out, but in the end Afterdawn saved me by backing up most of the PortableApps versions

All options to remember positions that I know are still in the player...

Yes, but if you read what I said carefully you can actually see I don't want to remember positions. To put it simply, my problem is that when I uncheck "Remember Video Playback Positions" it no longer remembers the time in the favourites menu, in my history of recently played files. PotPlayerPortable 1.7.16291 was the last version of the player that remembers playback history in this manner without requiring you to remember playback history in the playlist too.

  6. I should also note, I was able to make all supported files in the folder automatically load by setting General > "When Files Opened:" to "Add all files of the same type to playlist" while also checking a second option I had previously overlooked: Playback > Playlist > "Auto add similar files in play folder" This is an extremely convenient setup, and I'm preserving my settings in a simple SFX file I'll probably call something like: "Configure Potplayer.exe" which you can find in the v5 of my imkira3Keys project. It should be released here in a few days.
