    Hi all.
I have posted about this matter on this thread
    https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/369668-%5BCLOSED%5D-Helpful-solution-to-download-t...e7#post2494448

But since there is no response there, I am opening a new thread.
I have IDM and it's not downloading the video files I want from this dailymotion or any other sites, actually. The only videos it downloads are the ones from youtube.
For example, I am trying to extract this video file http://www.dizihdfilm1.net/oyle-bir-gecer-zaman-ki-120-bolum-tek-parca-full-hd-720p-izle.html

A popup comes out for me to choose which resolution I want. For eg, I pick the 10th file and then this popup comes out as below.

When I click "download", the download completes instantly and it appears to be a 1 second blank video with only the audio.

Help me how can I get idm to work? If this doesn't work, then can someone tell me the code for me to extract videos from this site with "youtube DL" ?
I can't live without my computer.

All you need to do is use a different downloader.

    https://www.videohelp.com/software/YoutubeVideoDownloader

(which is a front-end to youtube DL)

    works just fine

But do not be surprised if you do not get admonished by a mod for the new topic.

I don't know. I get 2 options when opting to download the video.
    Either will download the video.

  7. I installed IDM on this public computer and got 3 options for the above video (see screenshot).
    Link to IDM: (https://files.videohelp.com/u/61125/idman628build17.exe)
    Link to streaming video:
    Code:
     http://www.dizihdfilm1.net/oyle-bir-gecer-zaman-ki-120-bolum-tek-parca-full-hd-720p-izle.html
My question is, why doesn't IDM give an indication of the file sizes of the 3 entries. The first entry gave a 100MB small resolution. The second entry gave a huge file and I cancelled the download. I knew it was huge by the "time left" and "downloaded" indication. The third entry gave a 640 MB file which I uploaded here:
    https://files.videohelp.com/u/61125/oy.ts (848x482).
Another question is, is there a way to turn off the IDM dialogue box? IDM wants to take over and download everything. I just want to enable it to download the files that I choose.
One good thing is the latest version of IDM doesn't require a computer restart, so it can always be used free, since this public computer is wiped clean after each start.

Options>General>Customize IDM Download panels in browsers (Edit). That should give you some options regarding file types it will intercept and/or download.
Or try reading the manual (.chm file) in the installation folder.

I wonder why it doesn't download the video file completely for me.
And why can't it download as an mp4 file? idm usually downloads videos as mp4 files, as it does from youtube.

  10. The ts file can instantly be converted to mp4 with various free software. One suggestion is to use the FREE trial of Tubedigger that has a convert- to- mp4 button. You don't need to buy the software to use that function. (Just put the ts file that you get from IDM into the Tubedigger video folder and press "convert".) Sometimes I found the ts file will not show total/elapsed play time when playing with VLC. After converting to mp4, VLC shows the total/elapsed play time.
I don't know why your computer won't download with IDM. You might try reinstalling IDM (use above exe link). Also, you might try connecting your computer to a different internet, like at the public library wifi, for example. If you have the same problem, then you've got some issue with your computer. Some public libraries lend out "hotspots" that you can take home for two weeks. It's a good thing to burn a lot of data on their dime.

If I reinstall IDM, do I need to pay for that? Or is it free?
