I have a panasonic AG-HMC41E avccam which has an HDMI out for external monitoring.
I have a blackmagic intensity shuttle with which i can easily capture the HDMI out directly to uncompressed format on my PC.
We use this footage for utube/vimeo.
I cant find any info about the quality of the HDMI out and am wondering whether it makes sense to do this. Its a very convenient workflow, but I am just wondering what price i might be paying. Got plenty of disk space so the uncompressed format not a problem.
The hdmi out mirrors the lcd camera display and includes the annotations on that display. I can turn these off, so thats fine,
The output signal does seem to reflect the record settings (1080p, 720p) etc even though the camera is not actually recording to card when capturing the hdmi signal.
Would really appreciate any help on this as noone seems to be able to give me any info on the hdmi out signal.
Thanks
