I have some old downloaded mpgs I burnt to CD about 2 years ago. I just went to try and watch one of them and something is very weird.

The movie isn't as long as it used to be, it used to about 15 minutes long and now it will only play for 2 minutes or so, If I watch the progress bar at the bottom of windows media player it is indicating the movie is over after 2 minutes, but it isn't. If I manually jump forward in the movie by moving the slider at the bottom, it seems to jump forward in the movie, but it will only play for 2 minutes and then stop!!

Anybody seen ANYTHING like this before???

Is the cd scratched at all? i find that my cds that have been laying around for that long seem to get fairly scratched or damaged in some way.

The really weird thing is that I played the file with WINDVD and everything seems to be fine.

Why would Media Player screw it up so badly?

WMP is a poor player. I stopped using it years ago. Now I use Zoom Player most of the time and sometimes Media Player Classic.
