  1. Sears has an "exclusive" offering in a Lite-On model 5007. Anyone have deatails on this model? Sears website offers little and Lite-On's website offers less info. Can't find this model anywhere else.
Lite-on's support page shows a different manual for the 5007 compared to the rest, but no firmware info or anything else.

    Anyone?

Funny it has a higher model number but doesn't write on all formats like the 5005. Seems like a 5001 to me.. There are lots of dvd recorders on the market that are the same but has different numbers so stores don't have to match prices.

  3. I don't think that's the case here. Didn't this one play 2-channel dvd-audio? It looked like the 5001 with that extra feature.

Just saw this unit on the shelf tonight.... Was tempted to pick one up.

The "TV Guide on screen" feature is appealing. I have the Guide+ Gold feature (as it was previously known) on my older Sony SLV-M20HF vcr and LOVE IT!! From the downloaded manual, it appears to also "stamp" the DVD with the info of what was recorded on it. Great instead of having to hand write labels later

    Is this unit any good?

Manual shows 1, 2, 4, 6hr record times. Any problem not having "3hr" choice like I've seen on some DVD recorders?

  6. Okay. It's a 5001 with the TV guide function. At least thats all Lite-on told me was the difference.

Since I read in this thread... https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=243476&highlight=liteon apparently the 5001 only has a MONO TV tuner built in, i.e. wont record stereo TV Program in stereo.

Does that mean the 5007 also has only a mono Tuner? If so that is a deal breaker for me

    WinRAR get it at http://www.rarlab.com/

Inside the RAR is the .PDF of the manual.

I got the manual last night, but it doesn't answer my question about MONO vs Stereo TV tuner

  11. I bought one of these.. the TV Guide feature is way cool.
(before having this, I did not have any on-screen guide for my
cable system.. so this is a big change)

The unit is nice for the price...
I don't know about the Stereo yet.. I think it records in stereo, but
    would have to double check...

I also have another post here, about the noise this thing
    gives off...
I don't mind it since I'm used to Computer Drives spinning up during
playback, but my wife thinks its kind of annoying...

I might just tuck it away in our entertainment center behind closed doors, right now I have it sitting out in the open.

The quality of the output looks VERY nice.
I've already transferred a few of our VHS-C tapes over to DVD..
    Looks great!
