    hello
i have a samsung 60 LCD tv that's connected to a Denon receiver (HDMI)
lately it would cut-off for about a second and come back on

the weird thing is it does this only when i'm watching something on Roku

i'm guessing the receiver is the root cause

    can someone help?

    thanks in advance

  2. I too have a Samsung and Denon.

The top of the suspect list is the HDMI cable. I would try:

    1. Use a different cable.

    2. Use a different HDMI input on the TV.

The other thing to look at is whether you have any other HDMI connections to secondary displays or other zones (my Denon is a 3-zone receiver).

I'm sure there are other things that could cause this, but HDMI would be my first suspect.

    thanks for the input
i'm starting to think it's the tv
i bought new monoprice hdmi cables and tried another hdmi port
    but it still restarts

back in Sep, i bought another denon receiver (same model) for my LG tv upstairs
    and have no issues
    could it be the tv?

also, u mentioned "The other thing to look at is whether you have any other HDMI connections to secondary displays or other zones (my Denon is a 3-zone receiver)"
    please explain

  4. Sometimes the HDMI handshake with another zone can cause a problem in the main zone.

    *UPDATE*
i unplugged the tv from the receiver into my roku player and the tv restarted while i was watching a program
    so i don't think it's the receiver
also, i bought 2 more HDMI cables (different suppliers) from amazon - still restarted

maybe i should try switching the roku boxes (i have another one upstairs), but it seems like an issue with my samsung tv
