  1. Hello, I wonder if you know a PVR model that features functionality that enables a user to watch an ongoing recording from its beginning?
Since here in Italy, the movies and main TV shows start to be broadcasted at 9.00/9.30 PM GMT+1 and I may watch my TV only later.
So I need to start recording the program I'm interested in to not to lose its start.
    Thank you.

  2. The most flexible solution is a USB TV Multi Tuner (DVB-T, S,C) like this one:

For recording you can use a software like DVBViewer or similar.

    Thank you for your answer.
I forgot to say that I mean an external device to use with my TV.

Well in Europe there are plenty of PVR's with timed recording based on the Enigma 2 design. In Australia Beyonwiz, Topfield, Humax can all do this. https://www.orbitadigital.com/en/receivers/satellite/1938-vu-ultimo-4k-3x-tuner-dvbs2x...r-enigma2.html In Australia there is these units all based on the European original https://beyonwiz.com.au/

    Thank you for your information.
I've read the manual of the Beyonwiz V2 model but I don't seem there is a functionality to: schedule a recording of a TV show from date, time: xx.xx to time: yy.yy.
I wonder if I'm missing something.

Yes you certainly can do this - the manual is not really very comprehensive and you would have to look at the screen shot for settings. I'm busy for the next couple of days but I'll post a screen shot of the page. Of course a Beyonwiz won't work in Europe because of station allocations in the tuners but since it is based on the Enigma 2 devices there should be a a European model with appropriate tuners.

Ok got home early so here is the Timer Menu - each entry is fully editable So although this is a preset timer I have you an use it as a template for what you want. So change the name to whatever, how often? once, daily. mon to fri, weekends etc etc date, time. Somewhere there are complete screenshots of all the variables, I'll try to find them and post. Even the Record item you can set to record only or record and zap (ie switch to the channel as you are recording and watch) or Zap only.

I have tried to find the user guide of the application you mentioned with no result.
Can you tell me if it is possible to schedule a recording when the PC is off?
    Thank you.

  11. DVbviewer Pro has a timeshift recording option if that's what you mean. Basically it "pause" the program and when you press play you can watch the begining of your program as if nothing happened
