I am trying to not use flip4mac as when I import the wmv or QT movies into iMovie as when I do I get the Flip4Mac Trial water mark on the video.

I am trying to convert both wmv or QT files to DV so I can import them into iMovie to create a movie and ultimately burn a DVD with iDVD. I have an Intel Mac with OS 10.4.x When I try to create the file using FFmpeg the process takes only a few seconds and the created file is zero in size and is unreadable. This happens for both file types. I get the following message in the terminal window "Codec type mismatch for mapping #0.0 -> #0.0"

I'll beat Case on this one, as he usually answers this,

but you need to check "invert mapping" in ffmpegx
in the audio tab. Unless it's be encoded with WM 11,
it should process the file properly then.

When I do that it just fails with the error in the terminal window of:

Unsupported codec (id=0) for input stream #0.0

    or

Could not write header for output file #0 (incorrect codec parameters ?)

unsupported codec--if you play in VLC, and perform
a Information command, what does it say about the stream?
or, can you check the information box in QT/F4M and
    what does it say...?
