  1. I made a dvd with ac3 sound and it plays fine on standalone dvd player but in computer (Win dvd) theres no audio.

If I bring up audio properties its says its a dolby digital. Tried the dvd in windows media player and that plays it with audio. Is it a win dvd player problem, its a new computer and came with win dvd 3.1.

I also burned the same dvd with MP2 sound and it played that fine. Also plays commerical dvd's fine.

I have just downloaded Power dvd and tried that, again no audio.

  2. It is possible that your audio stream is not 100% standards compliant, hence it working in some apps and not others. You may well find the same problem if you try a wide range of standalone DVD players too.

  3. I had the same issue with WinDVD 5. I uninstalled WinDVD. Still no sound. I went and removed any reference to WinDVD in the registry. I then reinstalled PowerDVD, rebooted and it seemed to work. Definitely an issue with WinDVD.
