There seems to be a lot of complaints about the most recent series 5.5 of Nero. Which version has had the greatest success burning VCD & SVCD's that play in the majority of set top players, taking into account reliable playback, menus, FF/RW, chapters, etc.

Personally I would say 5.5.2.3 (or 5.5.1.8+extra bug fix 2nd best)

I think it depends on your usage, and your DVD equipment, as it doesn't all depends on the burning software, it's also the compatibility of your Player to actually play it.
If you just want the VCD/SVCD burning with no extra features then i'd suggest you stick with Nero 5.048, if you want all the chapters and menus, get the latest 5.524 as it includes alot of bug fixes, and Ahead are trying to get all the FF/RW problems fixed.
