    Anyone knows anything (like media code and quality) about these discs?

    10 Xlayer Black Bottom Vinyl CD-R blank CD discs 48x 700MB Retro look

    can't say i'ver heard of them but i burned quite a few verbatim "vinyl" cds - https://www.bestbuy.com/site/verbatim-digital-vinyl-52x-cd-r-discs-10-pack-black-orang...?skuId=4419500

    I also have those Verbatim Vinyl CD-R, but they're different. Verbatims are only black at the top (label side), which means they're not really BLACK CDs. On the contrary, the Xlayers have black dye, so they're also black at the bottom (recordable side).

    personally i'm more concerned with how well the dye works than what color it is. i trust verbatim cdr.

    CD(R) use IR - plenty IR filters is dark (black or even opaque for visible light - https://jenslabs.com/2013/03/04/diy-ir-filter/ ) i will be not surprised if black dye will be completely transparent for IR.

  7. I've used some with jet black recording sides and mirror silver tops - never had any issues with them. They are unbranded.
