Handbrake's always worked for me, except for one file. I keep trying to put a movie in that's 1.7...something gb, and would like to make it smaller. But it won't accept the file. It keeps giving me this warning. Maybe someone here knows what's going on. I sure don't.Image

  4. The value for numericupdown is outside the allowed range, which means that in the analysis an illegal value is determined by handbrake.
This can be a program error or a problem with the file.

Try to remux the file with mkvtoolnix to mkv and then load the new mkv into handbrake.

Nope. Didn't work. I get the exact same notice...Maybe I'm using thr program wrong. I drag the file into mkvtoolnix and hit Start Multiplexing.

Yeah, it plays just fine in everything I try to play it in. That's not the problem. I just want to make the file size smaller. I've been trying for days but it just doesn't work. I've been using handbrake for months and this is the first file that the program won't accept. No, it wasn't copied from a dvd. There are a few sites I find movies on and download them, which is where I got the problem file from.

Can you provide the file itself, or a link?

I believe that this is where I got it from... It's the second one, the special edition.

I made a mistake. THIS is where I got it from...

Though, I don't know what happened. The file I'm trying to make smaller shows as 1.7gb while the version from that link shows as 991mb. Huh.

Maybe...if I got it from a different link. The archive.org link has a size of 991mb.

I probably did. I'm trying the 991mb one right now. I wanted to make sure I could watch it on my PS4, so I wanted to put it through handbrake to make it mp4, but like I said, it doesn't like the mkv file. I ran it through VLC and saved it to an mp4.
