  1. I have a MPG file, which is chinese old song actually. The file doesn't play on VLC, Windows Media Player, and some other player only recognize audio, but with highly pitched sound.

    Using (S)mplayer, it produces pixelated video, a bit fast fps, with some green flashes, high pitched audio.

    I checked the file, it doesn't look like a normal mpg, the file header is VMP199.

    It is a broken MPG file, certainly.
    TMPGenc Plus says "Illegal MPEG video stream".
    As it came from China, then that's not a big surprise.
    Ain't much you can do, except trying to find a decent source next time.
