  1. Hello,
i tried couple websites and only thing i found was either paid, or free, which didn't work, because development was abandoned. These things are usually hard to find. Anyone knowledgeable about topic probably has idea, where to get this for free. I need maximum quality, have problem uderstanding tv shows lately.
    Thanks for help.

  2. ASIO is not a renderer. It is an audio driver for computer audio interfaces such as Focusrite and RME, and supports multichannel I/O. Interface manufacturers supply ASIO drivers for their particular interface. The only free ASIO driver is ASIO4ALL.

ChapmanDolly is right, but there exists at least one piece-of-software named ASIO Renderer...

Thats to be expected, as the audio renderer controls the clock. If this clock is not directly tied to the hardware, but goes through three indirections, its clear that madVR will have no idea anymore whats going on with the real clock.

Unless your audio device doesn't have any other driver for audio at all (some pro audio devices don't), I wouldn't really recommend using such indirections for playback. More moving parts are generally worse.
Same reason ASIO4ALL is kinda pointless, unless your software ONLY supports ASIO output and nothing else.

I found only this paied version as well. I am not sure whether, or how much this would help. So i won't buy it probably. I used to have wasapi renderer in mpc-hc, which is gone now. Maybe, because i am using open source mpc-hc version, after development ended. Anyway i am not sure, if wasapi can change sampling rate of sound card, if you disable exclusive mode (i want this off), in windows in control panel/sound setting. As i don't want for audio to get resampled.

  5. Surodev asio renderer worked in the past on older operating systems like windows 7. When tested on windows 8 or 10, it would not work correctly. I tested multichannel asio renderer in past, it had many issues and problems working correctly. I have not tested it in its current form that requires payment or a test trial, but I'm not that interested in it. I have used the vb-audio asio bridge in the past and it worked well enough but didn't have exclusive control in the way that a specially made audio renderer can when optimized correctly.

MPC-HC does have a working wasapi audio renderer for all versions that I've seen it included inside. I believe MPC-HC integrated the sanear audio renderer in the program for wasapi sound rendering purposes. I think Alex Marsev uses soundtouch and soxr for resampling and speed issues for the sanear wasapi audio renderer. You have options to ignore system channel mixer or set exclusive or shared mode by unselecting it in audio renderer under internal filters section of options in MPC-HC.

    MPC-HC newer builds by clsid2: https : // github.com/clsid2/mpc-hc/releases

I find MPC-BE to be another interesting counterpart to MPC-HC as it has a builtin dedicated wasapi audio renderer as well.

It would be possible to use ASIO for sound purposes in a player like Jriver Media Center if you wanted to test it out. Jriver Media Center isn't as straight forward as MPC-HC/MPC-BE but it gives you a lot of options. There is a trial for Jriver Media Center of 30 days for testing purposes.

MPV on windows can be configured to use wasapi exclusive sound as well.

There is probably more documentation and success for others to program for wasapi sound output rather than trying to optimize and use asio sound output.

Reclock audio renderer used to be a necessary wasapi audio renderer for timing purposes with sound and video, but MPC-HC and MPV do a good job with those issues that existed in the past.

  6. But does that work, when you uncheck in control panel/sound under audio device - allow applications to take exclusive control of this device. I don't want for games to change sampling rate to 48000, because i want to use 44100. But i am not sure, if i disable this in sound setting. If wasapi in mpc can change sampling rate than? That's what i was asking. Because it would be logical, it couldn't. So if that's case, there is nothing i can do anyways. It probably doesn't help much anyways...

  7. I was talking about videos specifically, not games. If you are talking about games, then you would need a playback loop to be used, most programs will use virtual sound cards to do that. When using virtual sound cards, it will only allow one specific sampling rate to be used.

I suggest you get familiar with https : // www.vb-audio.com/ apps like voicemeter. Jriver Media Center does allow a loopback to be done but your issue might be latency issues.

ASIO was created for lowest latency for recording purposes and to be fully dedicated audio. Games are generally about playback purposes, so doing ASIO for games could create issues.
