    Hello

I'm trying to learn LightWorks, but it appears to only accept files that use a constant frame rate, while my Sony camcorder uses CFR for audio while it uses VFR for video:
    Code:
    Format : MPEG-PS
    File size : 39.7 MiB
    Duration : 37s 920ms
Overall bit rate mode : Variable

Do I have to re-encode the video stream before being able to edit the file in LW, or is there a faster, lossless work-around?

    Thank you.

  2. It is CFR (constant frame rate) already

The bitrate is variable (VBR, variable bit rate)

  3. Your video is ordinary CFR (25fps) PAL mpeg2 video. Haven't used LW in a while, at the time it did not support DVD standard video natively. Does it now? Lightworks may also be having a problem with your 5.1 audio track.

The frame rate is constant, but the bit rate is variable, so audio and video are out of sync when playing a video after importing it in LW:

"You've got a variable frame rate, which means you'll lose sync. You need to convert your media to a constant frame rate codec before importing into Lightworks." https://www.lwks.com/index.php?option=com_kunena&func=view&catid=14&id=105599&Itemid=81
