Picked up a Quasar VHQ960 cheap for playback of tapes that don't track well in my JVC's or Panasonic 1980. I cleaned the heads with a chamois cloth, got lots of dirt off of them, but it still has crappy playback quality. Was probably used heavily.
Currently bidding on a "new" (but opened and missing remote?) Sharp VC-H810U, only at $15 with shipping. They failed to list the model number anywhere, but I spotted it in the picture and contacted them to verify the model number... so I may win it at this price since no one will find it if they search the model number.
In any case, while I was browsing I saw a bunch of Sharp XA-xxx "Professional" VCR's... anyone use these before? Are they any good? At least compared to other mid-grade VCR's...
