I have read threads on how to change the region on DVD player but chapter keys on my remote don't work on screen! Any ideas? thanks
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

Philips may have updated the firmware since those directions came out, breaking the hack. You might make note of the current firmware version and see if it's possible to find older firmware somewhere (Philips may not have older firmware) and see if you can install it. Some players don't allow you to downgrade firmware. Any firmware downgrades you do with the understanding that attempting to downgrade firmware may brick the player and possibly void your warranty.
I'd guess based on my experience with Philips that your player probably is a converting player that can convert PAL DVD video to NTSC output, so if all else fails you could rip the DVDs and reburn them. Ripping will remove the region coding. -
Thanks for info. Will look into it - or otherwise buy a new DVD player!
