I have a VCD movie which is obviously converted from a DVD. I checked the settings on the files using VCDConvertApp.exe
and it saids "The file's mux rate is too high to remux (Rate 176400).

    What does this mean??

What i'm trying to do is convert home movies from my camcorder to VCD and i want to get the quality to be similar to that of that VCD movie. Does this Mux rate have something to do with the video quality of my MPG when i convert from AVI to mpg? (all i'm trying to do is make simple VCD mpgs).

    Can anyone help? Thank you!!

  2. Multiplexing (muxing) is the process of joining/intermixing two things into one. For mpeg movies this means joining video stream data and audio stream data.

Demultiplexing (demuxing) is the inverse. Splitting one thing into two or more things. i.e. recovering the basic video and audio data into separate files.

I'm a computer programmer (but not for video stuff) and I too would like to know the technical details of muxing rates and how that relates to mpeg packets.
