I tried cropdetect and then cropped using values provided by it. I used a test video of 576p (1024 X 576) so after cropping it became 1088 X 432.
so is there any way to keep the width standard. like 1024 is for 576p and 1280 for 720p. Handbrake does this by managing height. I want to do similar with ffmpeg but I'm not able to find any proper command or flag for that.
Thank You !

Standard Width for 576 is 720 (PAL), not 1024.
To have standard width you must resize after cropping. -

But your 576p example does not make any sense.
You appear to be describing non-anamorphic widescreen which fits the widescreen in a 4:3 frame (typically 72 lines of border top and 72 lines bottom). Thus 576 - 144 = 432.
Before the crop that then displays as 768*576 - 1024*576 is reserved for anamorphic widescreen (576/9*16 = 1024).
Crop the bars to retain the 16:9 gives you 432/9*16 which brings you back to your original display width of 768 pixels.
Sorry. I can not assist with ffmpeg commands. This is just the underlying theory. -
