Hello.
Recently got ambitious to digitize my old VHS and VHSC home movies.
I'm a total DIY'er, and have just a simple Win7 desktop.
Bought an analog-to-USB converter off Amazon for $10, and it works.
Have successfully transferred some videos via OBS onto my 2TB external drive,
but the files are HUGE, as in 14GB for a two hour video.
I had the output resolution set at 864x540.
I'm trying another one with it set at 576x360 to see if that makes the file smaller.
All I care about is that I get all resolution the tape has, and that the videos aren't choppy.
Any advice is appreciated, and please be gentle on this digital-video-newbie.
Thanks in advance!
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

NTSC video should be captured at 720x480, interlaced, compressed with a lossless codec. Worry about cleanup and aspect ratio later.

There are better tools to perform this task than OBS. Also; video bitrate determines filesize not resolution.
If OBS is your way to go let me know your settings and i will advise. I'm not an expert or a purist, but I use OBS literally on a daily basis so can advise on a few of its settings.
You can manually type in your preferred resolution...
