I recall there being suspicion that eRightSoft SUPER video converter was doing nefarious backdoor things but nothing definitive and it remained on the software list for some time, but I see it's gone though their website is still up - did someone definitively establish it was spying or some other activity?

  2. I stopped using this awful software very many years ago.
There have been many better solutions available for a long time.

  3. I wanted to warn people and decribed it in a review and promply I got many "reviews" 10 out of 10 stars in everything as answers. haha

But it is not clean, never was, even after installation progress it wasn't clean when in usage. I took a look at it many years ago and I liked the simplicity of the GUI, but it wasn't clean, so good bye.

There are many better choices like XMedia Recode, a very nice GUI of ffmpeg. Really nice work of the dev.

PotPlayer is also suspicius. I don't like the silent internet access. But hey I have found a great player many years ago, which is open source and doesn't violate GNU GPL:

    ffmpeg hall of shame
