I m learning php and try to learn more ....

I m playing with some script that i find on internet and i want to learn where to put this php files and how to run it
i have smal server with 3 gb momery /with php installed on it

It depends how you want to use it

You can use php scripts on command line like this: php <scriptname>
Or you need a web server with php support and put it in the web accessible directory, and call it in a browser

Are you sure you're posting in the right forum? This is "Video stream downloading".

If you are,then put all the script files in any place under the /root folder on your web server (or create a new folder under root folder (usually it's called httpdocs). If it's a basic script,just use the assigned ip/domain with the folder name or specific file.php (e.g. if you have httpdocs/test_script/index.php ,you'd enter the ip/web address like http://someurl/test_script). It's possible that it requires an installation or some mySQL database entries. Just follow readme file instructions.

I dont knwo if i can put the phpscript here or not
i dont want to break the rules

this i knew it ,simpel php put it in the directory var/www/phpinfo for exemple and if i enter my http://hostname/phpinfo i wil see it this is clear for me

wat i want to do is to grap some media ts/m3u/mp4 from internet and send it to a specifiec file so i can see it and use it (to be clear is free streams on internet )

As long as there is nothing illegal in your script you can post it here afaik.

Well put your script in /var/www of /var/www/html (ubuntu based distro)
Call your script http://hostname/script.php

but if i do that ,and i did before,when i call my script http://hostname/script.php...i see it just on page
but i want to generate some files i sent it to my server so i can take alook on it

You asked how to use your script, that is what i told you.

I have no clue what your script is doing/supposed to do.

Maybe you really do not understand what a php script really is.

The script converts to a regular web page but typically calls other functions which could change according to the way you run it. Behind the actual script will be another server which actually hold the files such as video that display when the script runs.

Trying to simply read a script to see what is happening may not get you very far and you most certainly will not be able to use that script on your own server.

Cosinus20 sends private messages with code that looks like windows shell script..
And another code that actually is php but html inside a php file won't work unless you echo out every single line..

so DB83 is probably right, i don't think the OP understand what he/she is doing.

that is the proces to learn the things ...and i m doing that with reading and again reading
i inderstand wat im doing but maybe i didt expline it in good way

the idea is to get some media(ts/mp4/m3u) from internet so that the rol of this php script is to get this media and put it inside a file on my server that i can runt localy
