    Hi,

I own a Philips HTS 5550/94 and recently bought a Philips BDP 3380/94. I use both this connected to my Hitachi TV in such way-
BDP connected to TV via HDMI cable and BDP sound output is connected to DVD of HTS via AVI cable (to AUX1). My TV has got 3 HDMI ports, one of which is dedicted to DTH Set top box. I'm getting another HDMI cable to make independent connection between HTS and TV.
The HTS has got CO Axial input and BDP has got CO Axial output. Which is better connection between BDP and HTS, AVI or digital CO Axial?
By connecting BDP to HTS to its AUX in, I lost HTS audio settings such as 'movie' 'action' 'drama' 'concert' etc, instead given options such as 'rock' 'pop' 'speech' 'classic' etc. Will connection via CO Axial get me options I want?
If this query sound confusing, I'm sorry
    Thanks

The 'AVI' connection is analog. The coax connection is digital. The latter is better but whether it will give you those options I simply do not know.
