Software to Record Voice/Audio. Diary!

I have windows and in accessories>>entertainment there is a 'sofware' called record sound, however u can only record upto 60 secs.
can someone please tell me if there is a free software that i can record stuff on for atleast an hour? i wna make a voice diary. lolz.
please help.

Use Audacity.

You can make SoundRecorder record more than 60 seconds....but it is easier in the long run to use something else...like Audacity.
I prefer CD Wave Editor myself.

a little known fact is you can use Windows Movie Maker for recording audio only (not just video).
Just go tools/ narrate timeline and follow the bouncing ball

If you just want to make voice recordings than MP3directcut would be the ideal tool. It allow you to record straight into mp3, with options to cut or move parts of recording. And it is very easy to use.

I remember once there was a diary software which allows you to write your daily entries and record voice clips linked to your diary entries. Try to search for diary software
