    G'day all.

I just found this folder taking 180 GB of HHD. Is it safe to delete or shred?

    Thanks for helping

I found this advice at https://www.howtogeek.com/forum/topic/clean_-tmp-safe-to-delete-files-inside

C:\$clean_tmp is from windows disk cleanup and can be deleted safely. However, if you are unsure, rename the folder. Reboot and if all is well delete the contents.

  4. The dollar sign at the beginning is old shorthand for temp files, also the "tmp" at the end, but always good test to rename directory and test as mentioned.

  6. Alternatively you may wish to use dedicated app for cleaning your storage from unwanted files - ccleaner https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner is reliable tool for this.
