    Hi,

I didnt seem to find a thread for this case.

I have quite a few older movies that were on VCD that I want to digitize. However, neither makeMKV nor Handbrake will even read them. When I go into the disc files they have a executable file (.exe) that will play it in its own window. My question is what software will work to read and rip the discs?

    Thank you

  2. Extract the mpeg using VCDGear. Once you have the mpg file, process as required.

Then they're not VCDs. Or at least they have something in addition to normal VCDs.

For normal VCDs you can usually just copy the .DAT file to a suitable location and rename it .MPG. Most editors/converters will accept that.
