  1. Hi,

I have a page that when pressing a button plays a mp3 sound through a request like this: GET http://example.net/sound.mp3
however, on firefox no sound is heard. I read it has to do with patents and some crap but also that it because its in a mpeg container or something. I wonder if its possible to convert the mp3 somehow so it plays on firefox.

    Thank you.

Firefox can certainly play mp3 files,
perhaps it it something to do with the way the webpage is coded

All mp3's play in firefox, since firefox 3.5 (2009)

Do you have an example that does not play ? Maybe a problem with your mp3 or html5 code as mentioned above

mp3 is public domain now. The patents have expired.

  5. Yes, I can send you the link to my chat by private message.
By the way, with my post I mean mp3 files that are embedded into the webpage, not on a player. Those play fine.

What does a chat have anything to do with it ? Did you mean posting a mp3 in a chatroom ?

Which play fine ? I don't know what you're referring to. I only know about embedded mp3's in a HTML5 page. Or you can open them directly with firefox (right click, open with firefox; ie. use firefox as the "player") . Both those work
