I have a paid version of vegas 8 and I cannot the same mts files or mpeg 2 files that I can in Vegas 7.0. When I open the components directory in 8, it appears that the same mpeg dll files are the same as they are in 7. I cannot play the files in the preview window, open them or add them to the timeline? Any ideas?

Do you get an error message or any other reaction ?
Do you drag and drop to the timeline ?

    More details required.

Yes I get an error message that it cannot open the file. It will not let me drag and drop the file. I go back into 7 and I can do both

What, exactly, is the error message ? Post a screenshot if you can be bothered typing it out. But give it word for word.

So use version 7. I haven't upgraded to 8 yet because there is no compelling reason to. Is there anything in 8 that you absolutley have to use ?
