I deleted by accident a project folder of files.
Realised in a few minutes ... yes I had emptied 'Recycle Bin'
Must have had folder selected by accident .
Ran RECUVA data recovery and recovered that days 'deleted files' from 'Recyle bin' to another HDD .....
RECUVA showed all good ... and all files seem to have recovered OK .....
None of the recovered ones will play ...
They are no empty files, and they have the correct file type ... i.e. mp4 when I try to run I get "Failed to open input file" (Splash)
Also, a large number of jpeg when I click on them, I get error "It appears we don't support this file format'
I then tried with EASEUS Data Recovery ..... exactly the same.
Seems strange that it recovered over 260 files .... none of them will open/play even though they all declare themselves to be the correct file type.
Anybody any suggestions ?

Sorry to hear that. What did Recuvu say about the state?
Is it a busy drive, could they have been overwritten?
It does seem odd that they all fail. -
Upload a pic and see if it can be opened here in case your system has a hiccup.

RECUVA said Excellent on all except 1.
OK ... not sure what is, but here is one of the pics and one of the vids, they are tagged correctly;y as .jpg and .mp4
I could not attach jpg direct as it advises not a valid file ..... so zipped it first. -
A little Q. m8
If you had emptied the Recycle Bin how could a program recover anything from that Bin ?
All may not be lost (unless you have written data to the drive that contained the folder/files)
Try GetDataBack but installed, if possible, on a different drive
(I only checked the .mp4 and that really does appear 'empty') -
Try turning your virus protector off before you do another recovery to see if it is interfering with it.

Neither of those files look valid when viewed in the hex editor, the typical headers are missing, etc.
Try photorec, this program potentially needs a big space to write out it's recovered files.
