CD-R help

i have a marantz 4300 and i burned a couple of videos i had on my computer onto a cd-r. I also used TMPGENC to change the video formats into dvd ones but the problem is when I play on my dvd player it say mp3 player when it should be a dvd with two file that say root and root with nothing in them. I dont know if it's because I used a cd-r or what. Please Help.
