  1. I am currently using a oppo bd-103However it is not a region free device
    it can not play the lord of the ring extend edition which i purchased in UK.
    any though to fix this by software or updates? thx!

    There is no hack listed for that player and there probably never will be.
    99.99% of hacks I've seen for Blu Ray players(and VERY few have any hacks available at all) will effect DVD playback only....NOT Blu Ray.

    You will NEVER be able to fix this via software.

    I don't keep up with Oppo so my information is NOT current, but in the past 3rd parties made hardware modifications you could add to an Oppo to make it region free. You'll have to research - perhaps one exists for your player. I can offer no personal expertise on how easy or difficult it is to add such hardware mods yourself to players.

    It is possible to rip to a PC and reburn movies. The ripping will remove region coding. Doing so would eliminate the immediate need to hack the Oppo.
