  1. Hello,

I read somewhere, but I can't find the links anymore, that there was dvd equipment that could be used as "tbc" like the panasonic es... but that also upscaled the video.

I would be interested to use this method to test, I sometimes have better results by going through the es15, so my impression is positive.

some of you have references of dvd recorder which can be used as "tbc" and which would be able to upscale the image?

    Thanks

The Panasonic DVD and HDD recorders with HDMI can do that.
But I don't recommend to use their upscaling because it is very basic (mediocre deinterlacing, mediocre scaling).

I have a DMR-EH 575 and always have the HDMI output format set to 576i to avoid it.

It's TBC capabilities are the usual, so very useful.

  3. Thank you,

I'll look into the dmr eh series.
I don't expect miracles, but for some types of videos, I hope the result can be interesting.

The results are underwhelming and you can easily do the same and much better in software. I guess one benefit could be it happens during capture in real time.
