    Hey,

    I just saw a video and they used a cool text effect
    Im wondering if you guys can tell me how to call this.

    I would call it a 'moving path'. Reasonably easy to do with a NLE

    Also called 3D motion tracking. Could also be done in After Effects

  4. Yes it's important to distinguish that it's "3d" not "2d". It's also called "match moving" or "camera tracking". 2d motion tracking would only give you x,y translations, no perspective shifts or z-space changes

    That's called "Card Animation". The "Card" is a layer manipulated in 2.5D space. The text is a PNG file. So you place the PNG into the blank layer and then animate the layer.

    The beauty of 3D space is you can "pop out" the frames and make them dance, flip, twist, flap, etc.

    You can try looking up online, but you may need to do some study from a dedicated book on visual effects / compositing.

    Don't spread this kind of technique around to the proletariat. It's supposed to be a secret.
