My question is in regard to a single point of reference in a video. I know how to have a single colour object in a black-and-white video. However, I want to be able to have a single-person show in colour in a black-and-white video.

Essentially I want to do a wedding video but have it so the bride is in full colour and everything else in black and white so she stands out. It would then all change to colour at some point. But I'm unsure how to achieve a person in colour as she would obviously be different colours from a single point of reference. I would imagine it would involve rotoscoping her out of the original colour video and putting her back as a layer over the top of her now black-and-white image but was wondering if there was an easier way of doing it.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Nope, that is what you would have to do.

2 layers (color foreground, color background with grayscale filter) and animated roto'ed mask outlining the bride.
