I voted director but I would have to direct what I wrote. It's hard for me to believe in someone else's vision (I'm not saying it is impossible, just hard.) Even though a writer/director can be a pain to everyone else involved, I need that level of control for me to truly enjoy myself.

And if I'm not going to edit, then I'm gonna be breathing down the editor's neck the entire time.

My choice is not there: scenarist.
That's the most important one, IMO. You cannot make a good movie if you start with a bad scenario. Of course a bad director can screw up a good movie, but that's another story.

I'd be the Producer if I had the money (that way you have say over the film and hire everyone else to do all the work)


I'd be the Writer if I could also Direct, 'cause the screenplay you wrote won't be the film that ends up being made :P

Plus I'd want more creative control over what I wrote.


Unless this an Indie film...then I could probably do it all myself...but no one would ever see the movie that way

But since I've been working on many movie sets I can tell you - none of the above options is really so cool as it may seem to outsiders. These people are *overpaid* alot, thats true, but they live in such a frustrating envorinment that I say thx - but no thx
Nice overpaid government job with lifetime contract backed by unions is the way to go :P

She has actually worked on a number of big movies, Resident evil 2 (here in Toronto) lots of MOTWs and the new KOJACK Tv series (is it out yet?) starring ving rhames, anyway Im rambling.

I always catch myself when watching movies thinking more about how it was filmed wrong then what is going on on the screen. And if ya ask me, Hollywood really needs some better directors at the moment. Long gone is Citizen Kane.
