So actually i'm trying to figure out if color range is working properly through HDMI to my monitor which is a TN panel with bad light distribution between top and bottom. Top is darker and bottom is brighter.
Anyway my HDMI Samsung monitor has the "low/normal" dark level setting to select full or limited range. My NVIDIA driver by default output RGB->Limited for HDMI display. With my another IPS DVI monitor NVIDIA driver always output fullrange with no optional settings for user. Even my another DVI monitor itself dont look to have a setting to change black level, its only full range by factory. So levels output always fullrange correctly in this one.
My point than if i keep GPU driver at RGB-full and change my HDMI monitor from Limited(low) to full(normal) colors get brighter. Another thing i dont understand is how to properly configure HDMI monitor to limited since it support limited. Strangely if i keep GPU driver to RGB-limited and monitor at limited level, black levels looks to be still in full range because in the test i can still see all 15 first squares like happens to GPU RGB-full+Monitor-full: http://www.nicolaspeople.com/ch3rokeesblog/wp-content/uploads/2008/01/fullrgb_test.jpg
I'm a bit confused if i understand correct the colors for Samsung monitor than low is supposed to be limited and normal full black level and i'm configuring all correct. I look for some clarification for that.
Thanks.

For RGB you generally want full range at both ends. For YUV you generally want limited range at both ends. Both should look the same.

I see, then limited only works properly with NVIDIA driver YCbCr. NVIDIA driver always output RGB-limited by default for any HDMI display.

It is highly unlikely your monitor supports the YUV colorspace unless it was some sort of broadcast monitor built specifically for the task. This is why your GPU defaults to RGB. Otherwise all you would see is a black screen. Also, I am not aware of any nVidia cards capable of driving a YUV chain. You typically need highly specialized gear for that sort of set up.
