Does any of you knows why my Philips PET 702P is unable to play DVD Media but plays VCDs and Audio CDs?
I tried resetting to factory default but to no avail. Please help. Thanks!

    DVD media with copied dvd-videos?
What kind of dvd media? Commercial dvds? Dvd-r, dvd-rw, dvd+r,dvd+rw, etc?

If no DVDs at all the dvd reader laser might be corrupt.

Before, I was able to play most DVD Media. But suddenly, after I mistakenly input DVD Data file, My player is now unable to read DVD Media. I tried VCD Files and it is working. If the DVD Reader laser might be corrupted, how can i fix it? Should I replace the lens? Thanks for prompt response mr. admin.

You can't break your player by trying to make it play DVD data files. DVD players use different lasers to read CD and DVD media, so when this happens it almost always means that there is a problem with the DVD laser. You can try cleaning the lens but if that doesn't work it will require a repair or you'll have to replace the player.
