  1. Hi Everyone ,

    I came across a website LINK : https://www.nekomeowmeow.com/marcheep01/

it has video embed on which it overlay subtitles . I tried to inspect it's element but did not able to find any srt or vtt or xml which has substiles related to it .
Also i am able to download video and i am sure those subtitles are not hard coded .

May any one please help me regarding it ?

  2. Perhaps the “Video Streaming Downloading” section would be more suited for such a request. It is followed by some bona fide experts in that specific field who may not visit the “Subtitle” section on a regular basis.

MediaInfo might be able to tell you what format was used.

    Download and install MediaInfo.
Open the file that you downloaded with MediaInfo
Click on "View" and then "Text"
Copy the entire contents of the window.
Paste the output from MediaInfo into a reply to this thread.

  4. Well, the issue here as I understand it is to retrieve the subtitles overlayed on the video when it is played from that web page, which are most likely not embedded within the video stream (which happens to be a standalone MP4 file), so MediaInfo won't be able to tell anything.
I tried to examine the page with Firefox's console, but it would freeze the browser with a sudden CPU usage spike, since my damn computer already crashed 3 times today I gave up quickly.

If the OP wants the English closed captions, in theory, those could be EIA 608 captions, which are stored in the MPEG GOP user data.

Private message a moderator and ask to have this thread moved to the Video Streaming Downloading sub-forum.

If your video download had EIA-608 or EIA-708 closed captions (N. American TV captioning) they would appear in the MediaInfo Report.

Here is a partial MediaInfo Report for an episode that I downloaded from a free website in mp4 format so you can see what they look like.

    ID : 1-CC1
    Format : EIA-608
