I can hardly find DVD-RW, 2x Verbatim discs for my DVR. Maxwell's are easily obtainable. Any suggestions on alternate vendors would be greatly appreciated. My DVR requires 2x discs. An Ebay vendor had the 2x in the regular Verbatim packaging. I am awaiting his reply to my offer. Others had 1-2x on their packaging. I know Verbatim is the way to go.

Are these any good? This is not the usual Verbatim blue packaging.

TheVerbatim -RW discs had red packaging long before blue.
But that may just be a stock photo.

Probably fine. I'd buy some, hope for the best.

  5. I know you want to hold on to your DVR for "reasons"....but I wouldn't feel comfortable relying on DVD-RW's for stability with constant re-writes, even Verbatim.

I only use RW discs for transferring off HDD from the JVC LSIs (not ISOBuster support yet), or for converting tapes on the JVCs. Never anything those not duplicated.

I have RW discs that are still doing well after 15 years of use.

FYI: I got the verbatim 1-2x discs, but they would not format in my DVR. I formatted them with the computer and then inserted them into the DVR. The DVR recognized the disc and gave me options to format the disc again. Hopefully, they will now record. I will see.
