Hi guys.. i recently just bought a ps3 and was converting mkv to be able to play them on ps3 using the software mkv2vob.

my settings are to split the file into 4GB(FAT32) for portable hdd. the rest leave it as default.

so far i encounter 3 problems.
    1. They gave me a cyclic disk error.
    2. My disk space is always not enough. for a 10gb file convert i have 100gb and the randomly indicated i need more. sometimes during converting, sometimes before converting
    3. There was one time when the 10gb vid completed conversion but the end product was a 3.5gb part1 file, was wondering where did the other parts gone to.

sorry for asking so many questions. its my first time.

Cyclic Disk Error usually indicates a problem reading the file. If this is from a DVD then look for scratches and/or finger prints. If it is from a HDD, start looking for a new HDD. This could also be the cause of your other disc issues - size etc. Is this an internal drive, or an external USB drive ? Is it Fat32 or NTFS ? Have you checked your event logs for disk errors ? Have you run a scandisk recently ?

Personally, I would skip mkv2vob and use either TSMuxer or Xvid4PSP. You can use TSMuxer to split the file while it repackages.

Can you post the details from the mkv? Use mediainfo, open mkv, view->text and copy and paste here.
