pioneer xv-dv222 double layer dvd's

Hello, i just burned a homevideo on a double layer dvd but my pioneer xv-dv222 can't read this dvd's i played it on my brothers dvd player from pioneer dont know the version of his type. But the dvd worked on his dvd player. Is there a way to do something on my dvd player to make the dvd work?
