This common subtitle font was used on Disney DVD's from 2000-2002, as well as many 20th Century Fox and Universal Studios DVD's.

But the problem is, I have NO IDEA what font this subtitle sample is. Any help appreciated.

P.S. The font I know of that was used on early DVD's from 1997-2000, is Arial Rounded MT.

  2. Looks like a variation of Helvetica Light. Ariel is a variation of Helvetica (to avoid copyright issues).

Do you realize that subtitles on DVDs are graphics, not text? You have no control over what they look like.

Actually, the "1" on that font doesn't match with the "1" as seen on the actual DVD subtitles.

  6. Did it occur to you that a multi-billion dollar creative company company like Disney may create their own fonts?

OK, to make things even easier, here's what the font is supposed to look like. It contains all 26 letters of the lowercase alphabet, the punctuation marks, and the first two numerals.
