  1. Hello all !

Iam searching for a way/program to shrink my MK4 File (approx. 35 GB) to a standard 25GB Blu ray disc (with that format to burn it). Ive tried several programs but always failed. Is there even a way to do this?

Ive tried DVDFAb (gets stuck at 85% reencoding). Ive tried remuxer and bluraydiscrebuilder - didnt work. Also with Handbreak i could not set a file size to 25GB, nor make a 25GB Blu ray disc format.

Even a simple mkv shrink would do to make it fit on a blu ray 25 data disc.
    Freeware would be good.

Glad for your help, thanks in advance.

Try https://www.videohelp.com/software/BDtoAVCHD and select bd 25 from the drop list.

  3. Thanks for your reply, ive tried BDtoAVCHD but when i start the job it says in red "Failed". whatever option i try to choose, does the video length matter? It's almost 4 hours. a simple shrink in .mkv file size to 25GB or so would do as well.

First remux your MKV with MKvToolNix - should only take a few minutes. This sometimes fixes errors. If that doesn't work post a MediaInfo report (text mode) of the file, this might show if there is a problem.

I'm not sure what the conversion programs are looking for but what does stand out your audio track the sample rate is 44.1kHz Blu ray normally uses 24 bit 48 kHz audio. There are however some Blu-ray audio and concert discs that go up to 96 kHz and 192 kHz.Suggest you change the audio to 48kHz. You can do this in situ with a number of programs I use Popcorn Audio convertor https://www.videohelp.com/software/PopCorn-MKV-AudioConverter. So maybe the AAC 44.1kHz track is causing problems. 44.1 is normally associated with CD's

  8. There is a free program that made it. It's called Video Compressor (2019).

I have compressed and converted the file to .mp4 , the audio is untouched. Now even my Samsung blu-ray media player device runs it well.

Thanks for help, it took a while but now i have found a good solution for me.
