For some reason I can't seem to be able to play .dat files in windows media player anymore
I used to be able to do it I beleive
The error I get is "no combination of filters could be found to render the stream"
I have tried with this with multiple vcds that I have downloaded
I run windows 2000
Any suggestions?
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

I highly believe you were ever able to play it.. You have to download a VCD Player like I-On Vcd or something like that... Or, you can always convert it to an Mpg using VCD Gear 2.0 .

I've been able to play .dat files on my machine a few times, not that often at all though. On the other hand, I don't deal with a lot of Video CD's. But Liquid's right, you should get VCDGear to correct the format for .mpg
