    Hello everybody,
Hope you're all fine and living a joyous life.
Life is short, so enjoy it as musch as possible.

I would like to know if you can help me with a kind of automation in aegisub:

my purpose is to add exactly the same characters or words in all selected lines (or in all lines), and of course at the same places.
Instead of doing it line by line, is there a way to do it all at once?

    Example:
    Subtitles before:

    Dialogue: 0,0:00:00.00,0:00:05.00,Default,,0,0,0,,This is line 1
    Dialogue: 0,0:00:05.00,0:00:07.00,Default,,0,0,0,,This is line 2
Dialogue: 0,0:00:07.00,0:00:09.00,Default,,0,0,0,,And this is line 3

    Subtitles after:
Dialogue: 0,0:00:00.00,0:00:05.00,Default,,0,0,0,,WORD ADDED This is line 1
Dialogue: 0,0:00:05.00,0:00:07.00,Default,,0,0,0,,WORD ADDED This is line 2
Dialogue: 0,0:00:07.00,0:00:09.00,Default,,0,0,0,,WORD ADDED And this is line 3

Maybe I can copy all the lines and paste them into an excel file, then add a column with WORD ADDED, then concatenate the columns, and paste back into aegisub files, I think it will be easier than an automation script.

    Thanks by advance

    Hi videobruger,
    How do you do?

I rarely use Notepad++, but I must say it is very convenient, specially "find in files" CTRL+Shift+F, great function.

Interesting option. You gave me the idea of using CTRL+H (Replace).
When the words I want to add are at the beginning of the line, I do this :
    Replace "Default,,0,0,0,," by "Default,,0,0,0,,ADDED WORD"
    It works perfectly.

(But when I must add a word in the middle of the line, how can I do it?
I know how to record a macro, it's the same as in excel, but I don't know how to choose a position in a specific line, can you help?)

EDIT: I found how to do:
    - place the cursor anywhere in the first line
    - start macro (Ctrl+Shift+r)
    - key "Home" to go to the beginning of the line
    - move the cursor to the good position
    - insert the letters or words
    - go to next line
    - stop macro
    - run muiltiple macro

Thank you for having put me into the right direction
