    I don't know a lot about ubuntu video capture but I suspect that's pretty good advice.

    Also, if you haven't joined the ubuntu support forum (ubuntuforums.org) do so right now. It's amazing how good the tech support is there. It's actually better than what you pay for with some distros which shall remain nameless. The tech support is probably the best reason to choose ubuntu (kubuntu for me actually).
