I believe you. That age could be right if you are Baldrick's son or daughter. How old is your father? 39, 40?
There's not much to do but then I can't do much anyway.

I'm 34, but I enjoy all technology in general. I still make VCDs and still have a CRT. I do appreciate new technology like Blu-ray and 4K but don't laugh when people ask about older stuff. Been at the site for a while and glad to be here

42 here, but this will be my last, cancer is back as of last Friday! And I ain't going through the treatment again!
If that's any consolation, seems like Mr. Jdizzy40 made it at least until early 2006... é_è
Wherever you are now, I salute you.

And by the way : 40 here, and feeling like I'm coming out of a grave most days, when it comes to my general outlook toward life in this f***ed-up world — although physically I could easily pass for half that number (being in a better shape than most dudes in their twenties, and more flexible than most gals in their teens... I got nicknamed “Jean-Claude” in high-school, in reference to Jean-Claude Van Damme — I also got nicknamed “radioactive waste” [“déchet radioactif” in original non-dubbed french version] or “crapper's brush” [“balai à chiottes”] but not by the same people ; that was mostly due to my peculiar hair, I guess, which, incidentally, is the only thing that's been notably dwindling over the years, and it's reaching a point where it can't hide it no more despite my best efforts — it's a very bad design cuz I went straight from having too much of it to having not nearly enough — and yet I often find myself in a hair-trigger mood, go figure !).

But you still use Windows 7, how backward that is ! (I do too, and was chastised for it by an IT pro I was driving with during a car-sharing trip earlier this year. I only made the leap from Windows XP in 2016/2017, and mainly because XP couldn't deal with 3TB+ HDDs, otherwise I still regret its ergonomy — made me feel like I owned my computer, rather than the opposite, which seems to be the general trend in Microsoft's OSs over the last 10-15 years, and apparently Windows 10 is the worst offender to date, what with its cryptofascist updates which remove installed softwares or reset custom settings, or its horrendous “smHEILey” on the revamped BSOD screen, followed by a sentence with zero technical explanation obviously aimed at morons... which is also a general trend in the computer world at large, as examplified by Firefox's stupid warnings which make me cringe every time : “Congratulations ! You are using the most recent version of Firefox” / “We are sorry, Firefox encountered a problem and crashed, we will try to restore your tabs and windows...” / “Oops ! The tab crashed... We can help you !” / “Sorry, we are not able to restore your tabs...” — who the Hell is “we” ? it's a damn computer program talking ! makes me wanna go Chuck Norris on them “we” every time !)

I do have a few other boxes, Windows 10 and an iMac Pro and a Linux box. But my main network and entertainment revolves around my ancient Win 7 plus NAS because it simply works and just added a netgear EX80 to fling stuff around the house During the COVIDA19 lockdown I realised how anti social I had become as nothing changed in my lifestyle !! Catching up on forgotten TV series and movies. But everything is nearly back to normal in Sydney and with a bit of luck it will be a picnic on Tamarama beach for Xmas. Xmas decorated masks are already going on sale as I spotted in the local shopping centre today.

  14. What I'd like is a mask decorated with Heath Ledger's Joker's smile, or a simple message that would get people's attention in a jiffy like “EAT SH**T MO********ER”. If someone who makes those things reads this and wants at least one happy customer...
(Here in south France it's not nearly back to normal, according to my mother who avidly watches the news and every single debate kind of broadcast in the afternoon related to Miss COVID — as journalists have been officially requested to call it “la” COVID, with a feminine article, go figure... I wonder if it makes feminists happy ? — it looks like it's happening all over again, at least in some areas, including where I happen to be. As with many things, I quickly reached a point of saturation and boredom and disgust, and now no matter how hard I try, I can't bring myself to actually care about the whole situation. I already have a hard time getting the garbage out, so it's low in my list of priorities. Yet I spent a good part of the night writing this stuff, go figure...)
(And for me neither, it didn't change anything in my lifestyle, as I don't go out much on a regular basis, except for grocery shopping, and even for sport I have my own equipment, which I purchased some years ago as I could no longer stand to have to hear the horrendous “music” or stupid bullsh*t on the radio which are now mandatory in every single club — another epidemic that noone else cares about, I'm afraid. That's an issue I have in common with the late George Carlin — I have a very low tolerance level for stupid bullsh*t.)

Not if it's only me in my car, but if I have others then yes. They are not mandatory except in the southern state of Victoria where they had a runaway situation. Basically under control and nation wide we have had a total of 850 deaths out of a 25.6 million population. The vast majority would like the state governments to make them mandatory on public transport.

Yeah, since the beginninig of this century the assumption "all end-users are idiots" became the prime-directive (so to speak) among the programmers and especially among the web programmers...
below is the latest and greatest idiocy from the false-god Gluegow.

    > It looks like there aren't any great matches for your search
    > Tip: Try using words that might appear on the page you’re looking for. For example, "cake recipes" instead of "how to make a cake."
    > Need help? Take a look at other tips for searching on Google.
    > You can also try these searches:

For the [CENSORED]s their employer is never the one to blame, I mean, to them the fact that Google indexes less and less pages isn't relevant, or probably doesn't even exist

Had my annual flu-jab on Saturday (clue that is only generally available for those over a certain age)

Felt sorry for the doc. She asked my D.O.B. but then my age (could she not work it out ? )

Final clue. Our Queen was crowned the year I saw the light of day.
