  1. I have heard people through out the years having issues with these things. What's the best one on the market that we knows work.

I haven't used an HDMI to component (blue, green, red video + L/R audio) adapter, but I do have an HDMI to composite (yellow video + L/R audio) adapter that works quite well. I got it so I could run the HDMI output from my tablet to the composite A/V inputs on the stereo in my truck. Based on my experience with these brands (although most of them are actually made by the same company and just sold under different brand names), here's a couple options I wouldn't hesitate to buy if I ever needed an HDMI to component converter. Both are rated pretty well (4/5 stars). The thing I like about ordering from Amazon is that if it turns out to be crap, you can return it.

The one in the link below worked for someone in another thread who had tried a few others without success: https://www.amazon.com/Universal-Premium-Quality-Component-Converter/dp/B017LVMAWG/

  4. And forget about $10 "converter" cables like this:

    https://www.amazon.com/Auskic-Component-Converter-Adapter-Projectors/dp/B01FSH0LSA/

Those sellers are just ripping people off.

Yeah, I saw those too. I'd bet that if it were possible for people to give it a zero rating on Amazon, its overall rating would be a lot lower than 1.8/5. And even the 5-star reviews aren't all that impressive:

Cable is okay, but didn't work as I expected to.
Good looking but it doesn't work for me.
It doesn't convert the size correctly
Kinda makes you wonder if people understand what it takes to earn a 5-star rating.
