    Hi,

    I have the dvd writer, pioneer 106D.
    I lived in Canada and I would like to know if I can apply the new firmware (1.07) which is available on the Web site of pioneer Europe?

    I can't found anything on pioneer canada or u.s. web site.

    v1.07 applies to all A06/106 drives.

    the 1.07 is on all pioneer sites.i got mine from the japanese site.

    What does firmware 1.07 do what advantage is there to using it.

    Use this hacked firmware instead. It allows 12x ripping and also 2x burning on 1x media.

    ...with no garauntee of burn quality and it also voids your warranty while it's at it.

    Hacked firmware doesn't suit everyone. If you're just starting out, stick with genuine firmware for the time being as it's one less thing to go wrong.
